Stay Lambing Live Cottage

Cottage Details

Stay Lambing Live Cottage was once a barn where we stored everything from wood to hay from the surrounding meadows. But in 2012 it underwent a complete transformation.

Using only materials that are true to the area, the barn was fully refurbished by local craftsmen who painstakingly retained many of the original features while creating a luxurious cottage where you can now enjoy a tranquil retreat.

Within the cottage you’ll find plenty of character, including an antique bread oven, feature walls built from the local limestone, and limestone tiles in the hallway and bathrooms. Solid oak has been used throughout.

Three Bed Ensuite

The cottage has three beautiful en suite bedrooms on the ground floor, each with a flatscreen TV and mixer showers over the baths, and furnished to the highest standards. The carpets in the bedrooms are 100% British wool, and there is underfloor heating controlled by our ground source heating system. This also heats the water.

The upside-down layout of the cottage makes the most of the fantastic views of the surrounding area, which can be seen from the first floor with its bright and airy open plan layout.

After ascending the eye-catching curved oak staircase, you’ll first come to the kitchen-diner. Admire the island and units, which have all been handmade locally and expertly finished with granite worktops. All the facilities you would expect are found in the kitchen, including a Rangemaster cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and washing machine. There will also be a delicious welcome hamper bursting with the finest locally sourced goodies for you to enjoy.

Easegill Head Farm Kitchen

The kitchen leads into a secluded space, a ‘snug’, where an extra couple of guests can be accommodated on a sofa bed, and on into the main living area. Here you’ll find a beautiful limestone fireplace and stove. Cosy up on cold nights in the spacious, comfortable sofas in front of the large TV with Netflix. Or enjoy a lazy day reading one of the books from the small library. Games are also available for your enjoyment.

Outside there is more to explore. Making the most of the far-reaching views, you have your own private enclosed garden. The lawn is headed by a generous patio with relaxed outdoor seating. Finally, the cherry-on-top is a gorgeous wood-fired hot tub where you can soak under the stars or admire the views in true luxury.

There is parking for up to three cars in front of the cottage and, if needed, further parking on the grass outside the cottage gates.

Easegill Farm Experiences

Farm Experiences

It’s a real privilege for us, “The Marstons”, to share our family farm and way of life with you, our guests. As part of your stay at our rural self-catering cottage, we invite you to experience farm life first-hand.
